Acadian Adventure

We spent a few days biking and camping at Ac*dia National Park on the coast of Maine in mid-May.  The weather was cool (40s at night and 60s during the day), but mostly sunny.  The park loop road was only partly open, so we could ride our bikes on portions of it without giving cars a thought.  We visited Sand Beach and Th*nder Hole twice, drove up C*dillac Mountain, and hiked the rocky coast.

It was Sarah's first real visit to the ocean, and she loved it.  I think her favorite was Th*nder Hole, where she entertained older visitors by announcing repeatedly, "Here comes a big one!"  And, yes, we still owe her a trip to the beach on a hot day.

For me, it was a trip down memory lane.  I lived and worked in Maine for six years before being swept off my feet and to the Midwest by Don.  It was fun driving through the towns I used to frequent, and they haven't changed as much as I expected.  M*dcoast Maine will always be one of my favorite places.
