We had planned to go for a hike on New Year's afternoon but changed plans when I saw a post on F*cebook about terrific skating conditions on local ponds, due to cold temps and no snow. With a storm on the way, time was of the essence.
The ice was wonderful, and with no snow, we could skate the length of the lake, instead of the usual smaller cleared rink. Sarah did great -- improved tremendously from last year, when she could barely stand on her own. She loved being pulled in the sled by Don, also -- a wild ride, indeed.
Love seeing little ones managing to skate! I miss my Maine home on a lake, loved skating (none here in Florida!). Happy New Year!
