Today's Don's birthday, but we celebrated a couple of days early, since he left yesterday to visit his friend Jim in Montana. We went out to a Chinese restaurant then returned home for cake and ice cream.
Since I had some maple frosting left over from a cake I made for Easter, I decided to make a walnut cake (Don's favorite ice cream flavor is maple walnut). I found a recipe that made the cutest little sheet cake you've ever seen (baked in a bread pan). It was just the right size for the frosting, and the three of us. And it was yummy!
