On August 21, while others journeyed to the path of totality, we watched the solar eclipse from our front yard. We made a viewing box that morning, and, lucky for us, Neighbor Matt stopped by with a pair of official glasses. They really made all the difference. Clouds rolled in a little beforehand, but we were able to catch glimpses of the crescent sun between them.
While we didn't travel to see this eclipse, we just might when it happens again in 2024. The path of totality will pass over northern New England and upstate New York then -- perhaps close enough to entice us into fighting the crowds.
