Ice Skates, the Old and the New

A couple of days after Christmas, we went to the D.A.R. so Sarah could try out her new skates. It was a gorgeous day, with the sun glowing low in the cerulean sky.

Sarah loved the new skates, which, theoretically, will last her to adulthood, as they adjust to size 9. I doubt they will surpass Don's CCM Tacks with kangaroo skin uppers, however. He paid $80 for them in 1968 -- a sound investment. They may have lost their looks, but they still cut a fine line on the ice.
