Our celebration of Easter has, shall we say, eased up over the years. We no longer go to church, and Sarah no longer gets a new dress. This year, I hard boiled eggs, but we never got around to coloring them.
While I miss the festivity, I welcome the relaxation of duties. A little decorating, an Easter basket, and an egg hunt make for a low lift.
As I've gotten older, I've incorporated more baking into my holiday observances. I made my usual coconut macaroons, plus a carrot cake, and cinnamon rolls for breakfast. They were all dee-lish! We had dinner at Mom's with George — deviled eggs, clam dip, ham, Don's cheesy potatoes, corn, and asparagus. Yum, yum.
