Two Big Birthdays

Sarah is 16?! How did we get here? Beats me. 

She spent the day in driving school and went shopping and out to dinner with her friend Julia. They dressed up for the occasion, drawing attention from passersby, which is hard to do in Northampton.

On Friday, she got her driver's permit -- a day after she was eligible. 

On Saturday, we celebrated her and my mom with a cookout at our house with George, Brian, and Sam. Mom turned 85 earlier in the week. I love these photos of the two of them.

And on Sunday, we went to the cabin for a week, with Sarah's friend Monique. They tested out Sarah's new coffee maker. Yes, a coffee maker. I didn't drink coffee until I was 30. Kids these days.
