Halloween

We went with Grammy, Auntie Heather (aka Heshy), Forrest, Sam, and Kelley to get pumpkins the week before Halloween.  Sarah and I each chose one from the field.  The farm had calves for petting and a new litter of baby pigs -- so cute!

Sarah and Dad carved the pumpkins on Sunday, with help from Nick.

Sarah was sick the five days before Halloween but, fortunately, rebounded in time for the big day.  Don and I joined forces to create her costume, which she chose weeks in advance.  We did a little trick or treating before dinner, visiting Grammy, her 97-year-old neighbor (who gave Sarah a sea shell and a tiny vase), and our neighbors up the hill.

After dinner, we went to town for the R*g Sh*g parade and activities at the church and fire station.  The crowd was a bit overwhelming for Sarah and me, but she said she had a good time.  She came home with just the right amount of candy to satisfy her desire and my limits.
