An Author and a Scientist

Last week, Sarah showed off her talents in writing and researching.  During the first grade's "Authors' Tea," she read aloud three stories that she had written and illustrated about her friend Kayleigh's adoption party, the Daisies' twilight camping experience, and chicken eggs hatching in the classroom.  Her teacher then gave her a certificate for her work.

 For the school's "Science Night," she picked and pressed wildflowers from our yard.  I helped her identify them using a field guide, and Don found an interesting fact about each one on the web.  She carefully wrote out the information beside each specimen and mounted the sheets on a display board.
