It was a low-key few days, with a couple of short trips thrown in. Sarah loved playing board games with her big sister and brother-in-law. She was thrilled with the autographed picture of Harrison Smith that Rachel brought her. We went to the Montague Book Mill and the Norman Rockwell Museum. We visited downtown Northampton and ate at the 19th-century tavern down the hill.
We got 9" of snow on Sunday night, so Sarah didn't have school on Monday and got to spend another day with our guests. It continued to snow lightly all day, then picked up again in the late afternoon, just about the time Don left to bring them to the airport. He had a rough time getting back, due to the roads.
Meanwhile, Rachel and Matt boarded their plane, which was scheduled to leave Hartford around 8:00 p.m. Hours later, they were still on the ground. They finally took off around 2:00 a.m.! So, after enjoying some rest and relaxation at our place, they headed home exhausted.
We ended up with another 9" of snow, and another snow day -- though not as fun as the first, since Rachel and Matt weren't here.
