Reid joined us at the cabin the second week of July. We got lots of rain -- the yard flooded, and the toilet barely flushed. The lake rose, and we had to remove two dock pieces and bring the boat lift closer to shore. We had it easy compared to others, though. Back home in Massachusetts, the river in town flooded basements, roads, and businesses. And to the east of us in Vermont, towns like Montpelier and Barre were under water.
On the plus side, though, Don, Sarah, and Reid caught lots of fish, and we enjoyed board games and a fish fry. There's always fun to be had at the lake.
