Year of the Horse

We welcomed the Year of the Horse with our now-traditional family dinner on February 1.  This has become one of my favorite holidays.  It's wonderful to have my whole family over and feel our little house shake with laughter.

We had a photo shoot before everyone arrived, of course....

Such a lovely young girl she's become!

And silly, too.

I think you can tell from this picture that I was
coming down with the flu (it struck the next day).

George and Chelsey

The girl loves her dumplings...

and her Auntie Chelsey.
A week later, we went to a gathering of the local F*milies with Children from Ch*na at a nearby restaurant.  We hadn't met any of these folks yet, so it was a little awkward.  Sarah wasn't too interested in socializing with the other kids and occupied herself with coloring.

Sarah's kindergarten class studied China during the New Year.  Unfortunately, there was a snow day on the last day right before vacation, and they didn't get to have their party.
